Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe

On the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe lies one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders – the Victoria Fall also called Mosi-oa-Tunya, translated to “the smokes that thunders”.

The Victoria Falls is neither the tallest or the widest waterfall in the world, but it is the largest, based on its width of 1708 meters and height of 108 meters, resulting in the world’s largest falling water body. Safaris in Zimbabwe is located in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and we call this our home. We know Victoria Falls and its spectacular surroundings as well as the National Parks close by.

The impressive Victoria Falls takes the breath out of you.

Mopane forest and savanna dominate the area, as well as some Miombo and Rhodesian teak forests. The most notable aspect of the area’s vegetation is the rainforest that nourishes the spray from the waterfall. The rainforest contains plants rare for the area, e.g. mahogany, ebony and some creeks and vines.

Today, Victoria Falls is one of Africa’s most visited attractions – and it’s not hard to understand why!
